Some of the "in between"

Good morning, readers!

Not really, but I wanted to greet you all in an upbeat manner. I really just want to yell a big "F*ck you!" to the planet. Well, maybe not the whole planet, just where my job is.

I've worked for the same restaurant for almost 11 years. It's a place where the employees have been treated like family, the scheduling was uber flexible, and the benefits were unheard of for the service industry. There's a reason I've been there so long.

On New Year's Day our beloved owner retired. He had sold his part of the business to one of our own chefs so we figured everything would stay the same. NOPE! On Wednesday night a long time coworker of mine (he was there 8 years) was let go. No reason given other than, "You're services are no longer required.". Another coworker has been promoted to management that has no business being a manager. When I asked her if we should be worried about our jobs she said, "I would be.".

It really sucks when you find out your loyalty doesn't mean shit.

This is frustrating and it makes me want to go look for a job right now. So, I'm up at 6:50am writing this to you because I haven't been able to sleep all night. I am stressing too much over this and can't stop.

Maybe I can get a job at a craft/fabric store. Wouldn't that be nice?

On a happier note, my first Craftster swap of the year is the Classic TV Swap. My partner is perfect for me and I've already started working on two pieces for her. I will post pics as I finish them!
